Gravel Driveways — New Installation, Re-Grading & Repair
A gravel driveway done right lasts for years with minimal upkeep. Done wrong, you're fighting potholes and washboards every rainy season. I build new gravel driveways and fix bad ones across Monterey, San Benito, and San Luis Obispo counties.
New driveways:
- Laid out with proper crown and drainage so water sheds instead of pooling
- Compacted base that won't rut under trucks and trailers
- Sized for your use — cars, RVs, horse trailers, equipment
Repair & maintenance:
- Re-grading washboarded and potholed driveways
- Adding fresh rock where it's worn thin
- Fixing the drainage problems that keep destroying the surface
- Ranch roads and long private drives
The drainage part matters most. Nine times out of ten, a failing driveway is a water problem, not a rock problem. I grade for drainage first, then rock — that's why my driveways hold up.
Serving Monterey County (Salinas, Monterey, Carmel Valley, King City), San Benito County (Hollister, San Juan Bautista), and San Luis Obispo County (Paso Robles, Atascadero, Arroyo Grande, and everywhere rural).

How long does a gravel driveway last? A properly built one with good drainage lasts many years — it just needs a light re-grade every year or two depending on traffic and rain.
Can you fix my existing driveway, or does it need to be redone? Most can be fixed: re-grade, add rock where it's thin, fix the drainage. I'll look at it and tell you honestly which it is.
Do you bring the rock, or do I order it? I handle materials — I know the local quarries and what rock works best for our soils.
